Bible: Job 13:12-19

13:12 Your maxims 1  are proverbs of ashes; 2

your defenses 3  are defenses of clay. 4

13:13Refrain from talking 5  with me so that 6  I may speak;

then let come to me 7  what may. 8

13:14 Why 9  do I put myself in peril, 10

and take my life in my hands?

13:15 Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; 11

I will surely 12  defend 13  my ways to his face!

13:16 Moreover, this will become my deliverance,

for no godless person would come before him. 14

13:17 Listen carefully 15  to my words;

let your ears be attentive to my explanation. 16

13:18 See now, 17  I have prepared 18  my 19  case; 20

I know that I am right. 21

13:19 Who 22  will contend with me?

If anyone can, I will be silent and die. 23
