Bible: Exodus 2:11-15

The Presumption of the Deliverer

In those days, 2  when 3  Moses had grown up, he went out to his people 4  and observed 5  their hard labor, and he saw an Egyptian man attacking 6  a Hebrew man, one of his own people. 7  2:12 He looked this way and that 8  and saw that no one was there, 9  and then he attacked 10  the Egyptian and concealed the body 11  in the sand. 2:13 When he went out 12  the next day, 13  there were 14  two Hebrew men fighting. So he said to the one who was in the wrong, 15 Why are you attacking 16  your fellow Hebrew? 17

2:14 The man 18  replied, “Who made you a ruler 19  and a judge over us? Are you planning 20  to kill me like you killed that 21  Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking, 22 Surely what I did 23  has become known.” 2:15 When Pharaoh heard 24  about this event, 25  he sought to kill Moses. So Moses fled 26  from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian, 27  and he settled 28  by a certain well. 29
