Bible: 2 Peter 1:5-11
1:5 For this very reason, 1 make every effort 2 to add to your faith excellence, 3 to excellence, knowledge; 1:6 to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; 4 to perseverance, godliness; 1:7 to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish 5 love. 6 1:8 For if 7 these things are really yours 8 and are continually increasing, 9 they will keep you from becoming 10 ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of 11 knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately. 12 1:9 But 13 concerning the one who lacks such things 14 – he is blind. That is to say, he is 15 nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins. 1:10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, 16 make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. 17 For by doing this 18 you will never 19 stumble into sin. 20 1:11 For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.
