Bible: 2 Peter 1:5-11

1:5 For this very reason, 1  make every effort 2  to add to your faith excellence, 3  to excellence, knowledge; 1:6 to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; 4  to perseverance, godliness; 1:7 to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish 5  love. 6  1:8 For if 7  these things are really yours 8  and are continually increasing, 9  they will keep you from becoming 10  ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of 11  knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately. 12  1:9 But 13  concerning the one who lacks such things 14 he is blind. That is to say, he is 15  nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins. 1:10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, 16  make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. 17  For by doing this 18  you will never 19  stumble into sin. 20  1:11 For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.
