Bible: 1 John 4:8-21
4:11 Dear friends, if God so loved us, then 9 we also ought to love one another. 10 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. 11 If we love one another, God resides 12 in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 4:13 By this 14 we know that we reside in God 15 and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit. 16 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior 17 of the world.
4:15 If anyone 18 confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides 19 in him and he in God. 4:16 And we have come to know and to believe 20 the love that God has in us. 21 God is love, and the one who resides 22 in love resides in God, and God resides in him. 4:17 By this 23 love is perfected with 24 us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus 25 is, so also are we in this world. 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. 26 The 27 one who fears punishment 28 has not been perfected in love. 4:19 We love 29 because he loved us first.
4:20 If anyone says 30 “I love God” and yet 31 hates his fellow Christian, 32 he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian 33 whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 34 4:21 And the commandment we have from him is this: that 35 the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian 36 too.
