Bible: Romans 3:26-28; 4:4-5

3:26 This was 1  also to demonstrate 2  his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just 3  and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness. 4 

3:27 Where, then, is boasting? 5  It is excluded! By what principle? 6  Of works? No, but by the principle of faith! 3:28 For we consider that a person 7  is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. 8 

4:4 But Abel brought 1  some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest 2  of them. And the Lord was pleased with 3  Abel and his offering, 4:5 but with Cain and his offering he was not pleased. 4  So Cain became very angry, 5  and his expression was downcast. 6
