Bible: Psalm 42:5-11
42:5 Why are you depressed, 1 O my soul? 2
Why are you upset? 3
Wait for God!
For I will again give thanks
to my God for his saving intervention. 4
42:6 I am depressed, 5
so I will pray to you while I am trapped here in the region of the upper Jordan, 6
from Hermon, 7 from Mount Mizar. 8
42:7 One deep stream calls out to another 9 at the sound of your waterfalls; 10
all your billows and waves overwhelm me. 11
42:8 By day the
and by night he gives me a song, 13
a prayer 14 to the living God.
42:9 I will pray 15 to God, my high ridge: 16
“Why do you ignore 17 me?
Why must I walk around mourning 18
because my enemies oppress me?”
42:10 My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone, 19
as they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” 20
42:11 Why are you depressed, 21 O my soul? 22
Why are you upset? 23
Wait for God!
For I will again give thanks
to my God for his saving intervention. 24
