1:2 Instead 1  he finds pleasure in obeying the Lord’s commands; 2

he meditates on 3  his commands 4  day and night.

12:6 Abram traveled through the land as far as the oak tree 1  of Moreh 2  at Shechem. 3  (At that time the Canaanites were in the land.) 4

19:7 He said, “No, my brothers! Don’t act so wickedly! 1  19:8 Look, I have two daughters who have never had sexual relations with 2  a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do to them whatever you please. 3  Only don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection 4  of my roof.” 5

19:9Out of our way!” 6  they cried, and “This man came to live here as a foreigner, 7  and now he dares to judge us! 8  We’ll do more harm 9  to you than to them!” They kept 10  pressing in on Lot until they were close enough 11  to break down the door.

19:10 So the men inside 12  reached out 13  and pulled Lot back into the house 14  as they shut the door. 19:11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, from the youngest to the oldest, 15  with blindness. The men outside 16  wore themselves out trying to find the door.

1:5 God called 1  the light “dayand the darkness 2 night.” There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day. 3

1:9 God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place 1  and let dry ground appear.” 2  It was so.

1:11 God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: 3  plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, 4  and 5  trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” It was so. 1:18 to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. 6  God saw that it was good.
