God’s Covenant with Humankind through Noah

9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

12:11 As he approached 1  Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “Look, 2  I know that you are a beautiful woman. 3  12:12 When the Egyptians see you they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will keep you alive. 4 

The Cutting of the Covenant

15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram! I am your shield 1  and the one who will reward you in great abundance.” 2 

18:12 So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking, 1 After I am worn out will I have pleasure, 2  especially when my husband is old too? 3 

18:13 The Lord said to Abraham, “Why 4  did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really 5  have a child when I am old?’

25:32 Look,” said Esau, “I’m about to die! What use is the birthright to me? 1  25:33 But Jacob said, “Swear an oath to me now.” 2  So Esau 3  swore an oath to him and sold his birthright 4  to Jacob.

26:31 Early in the morning the men made a treaty with each other. 1  Isaac sent them off; they separated on good terms. 2
