Proper Fasting

6:16 “When 1  you fast, do not look sullen like the hypocrites, for they make their faces unattractive 2  so that people will see them fasting. I tell you the truth, 3  they have their reward.

17:2 Then I will confirm my covenant 1  between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.” 2 

18:3 He said, “My lord, 1  if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by and leave your servant. 2
