Jesus’ Invitation

11:25 At that time Jesus said, 1 I praise 2  you, Father, Lord 3  of heaven and earth, because 4  you have hidden these things from the wise 5  and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.

The Obedience of Abram

12:1 Now the Lord said 1  to Abram, 2

“Go out 3  from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household

to the land that I will show you. 4

13:3 And he journeyed from place to place 1  from the Negev as far as Bethel. 2  He returned 3  to the place where he had pitched his tent 4  at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai. 13:11 Lot chose for himself the whole region of the Jordan and traveled 5  toward the east.

So the relatives separated from each other. 6

Abram’s Solution to the Strife

13:1 So Abram went up from Egypt into the Negev. 7  He took his wife and all his possessions with him, as well as Lot. 8

The Cutting of the Covenant

15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram! I am your shield 1  and the one who will reward you in great abundance.” 2

17:4 As for me, 1  this 2  is my covenant with you: You will be the father of a multitude of nations.

26:23 From there Isaac 1  went up to Beer Sheba.

28:5 So Isaac sent Jacob on his way, and he went to Paddan Aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean and brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.
