Bible: Luke 19:41-44; 21:20-24; 23:28

Jesus Weeps for Jerusalem under Judgment

19:41 Now 1  when Jesus 2  approached 3  and saw the city, he wept over it, 19:42 saying, “If you had only known on this day, 4  even you, the things that make for peace! 5  But now they are hidden 6  from your eyes. 19:43 For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build 7  an embankment 8  against you and surround you and close in on you from every side. 19:44 They will demolish you 9 you and your children within your walls 10  – and they will not leave within you one stone 11  on top of another, 12  because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.” 13

21:20 God was with the boy as he grew. He lived in the wilderness and became an archer. 21:21 He lived in the wilderness of Paran. 1  His mother found a wife for him from the land of Egypt. 2

21:22 At that time Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, said to Abraham, “God is with you 3  in all that you do. 21:23 Now swear to me right here in God’s name 4  that you will not deceive me, my children, or my descendants. 5  Show me, and the land 6  where you are staying, 7  the same loyalty 8  that I have shown you.” 9

21:24 Abraham said, “I swear to do this.” 10
