Bible: Lev 11:44, 45; 19:2; 20:7, 26; 21:6

11:44 for I am the Lord your God and you are to sanctify yourselves and be holy because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any of the swarming things that creep on the ground, 11:45 for I am the Lord who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God, 1  and you are to be holy because I am holy.

19:2 He said, “Here, my lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house. Stay the night 1  and wash your feet. Then you can be on your way early in the morning.” 2  “No,” they replied, “we’ll spend the night in the town square.” 3

20:7 But now give back the man’s wife. Indeed 1  he is a prophet 2  and he will pray for you; thus you will live. 3  But if you don’t give her back, 4  know that you will surely die 5  along with all who belong to you.”

Abraham and Abimelech

20:1 Abraham journeyed from there to the Negev 6  region and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he lived as a temporary resident 7  in Gerar,

21:6 Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. 1  Everyone who hears about this 2  will laugh 3  with me.”
