15:18 “If the world hates you, be aware ¹  that it hated me first. ²  15:19 If you belonged to the world, ³  the world would love you as its own. ⁴  However, because you do not belong to the world, ⁵  but I chose you out of the world, for this reason ⁶  the world hates you. ⁷ 

16:1 Now Sarai, ¹  Abram’s wife, had not given birth to any children, ²  but she had an Egyptian servant ³  named Hagar. ⁴ 

17:9 Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep ¹  the covenantal requirement ²  I am imposing on you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. 17:11 You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins. This will be a reminder ³  of the covenant between me and you. 17:14 Any uncircumcised male ⁴  who has not been circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin will be cut off ⁵  from his people – he has failed to carry out my requirement.” ⁶ 

17:23 Abraham took his son Ishmael and every male in his household (whether born in his house or bought with money) ¹¹  and circumcised them ¹²  on that very same day, just as God had told him to do. 17:25 his son Ishmael was thirteen years old ¹³  when he was circumcised.
