Bible: Isaiah 29:18-21; 35:5-6; 61:1

29:18 At that time 1  the deaf will be able to hear words read from a scroll,

and the eyes of the blind will be able to see through deep darkness. 2 

29:19 The downtrodden will again rejoice in the Lord;

the poor among humankind will take delight 3  in the Holy One of Israel. 4 

29:20 For tyrants will disappear,

those who taunt will vanish,

and all those who love to do wrong will be eliminated 5 

29:21 those who bear false testimony against a person, 6 

who entrap the one who arbitrates at the city gate 7 

and deprive the innocent of justice by making false charges. 8 

35:5 and they started on their journey. 1  The surrounding cities were afraid of God, 2  and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

35:6 Jacob and all those who were with him arrived at Luz (that is, Bethel) 3  in the land of Canaan. 4
