Bible: Isa. 54:4-8; 57:14-19; 62:10-12
54:4 Don’t be afraid, for you will not be put to shame!
Don’t be intimidated, 1 for you will not be humiliated!
You will forget about the shame you experienced in your youth;
you will no longer remember the disgrace of your abandonment. 2
54:5 For your husband is the one who made you –
the
He is your protector, 3 the Holy One of Israel. 4
He is called “God of the entire earth.”
54:6 “Indeed, the
like a wife who has been abandoned and suffers from depression, 5
like a young wife when she has been rejected,” says your God.
54:7 “For a short time I abandoned 6 you,
but with great compassion I will gather you.
54:8 In a burst 7 of anger I rejected you 8 momentarily,
but with lasting devotion I will have compassion on you,”
says your protector, 9 the
1:14 God said, “Let there be lights 1 in the expanse 2 of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs 3 to indicate seasons and days and years, 1:15 and let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” It was so. 1:16 God made two great lights 4 – the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night. He made the stars also. 5 1:17 God placed the lights 6 in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth, 1:18 to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. 7 God saw that it was good. 1:19 There was evening, and there was morning, a fourth day.
1:11 God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: 2 plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, 3 and 4 trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” It was so. 1:12 The land produced vegetation – plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.
