Bible: Gal. 4:3-8; 3:22

4:3 So also we, when we were minors, 1  were enslaved under the basic forces 2  of the world. 4:4 But when the appropriate time 3  had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 4:5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we may be adopted as sons with full rights. 4  4:6 And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who calls 5  “Abba! 6  Father!” 4:7 So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if you are 7  a son, then you are also an heir through God. 8 

Heirs of Promise Are Not to Return to Law

4:8 Formerly when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods at all. 9 

3:22 And the Lord God said, “Now 1  that the man has become like one of us, 2  knowing 3  good and evil, he must not be allowed 4  to stretch out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”
