Everyone Will Die
9:1 So I reflected on all this, 1 attempting to clear 2 it all up.
I concluded that 3 the righteous and the wise, as well as their works, are in the hand of God;
whether a person will be loved or hated 4 –
no one knows what lies ahead. 5
9:12 Surely, no one 6 knows his appointed time! 7
Like fish that are caught in a deadly 8 net, and like birds that are caught in a snare –
just like them, all people 9 are ensnared 10 at an unfortunate 11 time that falls upon them suddenly.
10:14 Pathrusites, 1 Casluhites 2 (from whom the Philistines came), 3 and Caphtorites. 4
11:5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the people 1 had started 2 building. 11:6 And the Lord said, “If as one people all sharing a common language 3 they have begun to do this, then 4 nothing they plan to do will be beyond them. 5
