9:1 So I reflected on all this, ¹  attempting to clear ²  it all up.

I concluded that ³  the righteous and the wise, as well as their works, are in the hand of God;

whether a person will be loved or hated ⁴  –

no one knows what lies ahead. ⁵ 

9:12 Surely, no one ⁶  knows his appointed time! ⁷ 

Like fish that are caught in a deadly ⁸  net, and like birds that are caught in a snare –

just like them, all people ⁹  are ensnared ¹⁰  at an unfortunate ¹¹  time that falls upon them suddenly.

11:5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the people ¹  had started ²  building. 11:6 And the Lord said, “If as one people all sharing a common language ³  they have begun to do this, then ⁴  nothing they plan to do will be beyond them. ⁵
