Bible: Deuteronomy 6:10-12; 8:11-14

Exhortation to Worship the Lord Exclusively

6:10 Then when the Lord your God brings you to the land he promised your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give you – a land with large, fine cities you did not build, 6:11 houses filled with choice things you did not accumulate, hewn out cisterns you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant – and you eat your fill, 6:12 be careful not to forget the Lord who brought you out of Egypt, that place of slavery. 1

8:11 When 1  the dove returned to him in the evening, there was 2  a freshly plucked olive leaf in its beak! Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. 8:12 He waited another seven days and sent the dove out again, 3  but it did not return to him this time. 4

8:13 In Noah’s six hundred and first year, 5  in the first day of the first month, the waters had dried up from the earth, and Noah removed the covering from the ark and saw that 6  the surface of the ground was dry. 8:14 And by the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth 7  was dry.
