Bible: Deut. 7:6; 14:1-2; 26:16-19

7:6 For you are a people holy 1  to the Lord your God. He 2  has chosen you to be his people, prized 3  above all others on the face of the earth.

The Blessing of Victory for God’s People

14:1 At that time 1  Amraphel king of Shinar, 2  Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations 3  14:2 went to war 4  against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). 5 

26:16 Then Abimelech said to Isaac, “Leave us and go elsewhere, 1  for you have become much more powerful 2  than we are.” 26:17 So Isaac left there and settled in the Gerar Valley. 3  26:18 Isaac reopened 4  the wells that had been dug 5  back in the days of his father Abraham, for the Philistines had stopped them up 6  after Abraham died. Isaac 7  gave these wells 8  the same names his father had given them. 9 

26:19 When Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well with fresh flowing 10  water there,
