The sovereign Lord, the God who commands armies, 4  is speaking!

4:13 Then Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment 1  is too great to endure! 2 
5:8 The entire lifetime of Seth was 912 years, and then he died.

5:14 The entire lifetime of Kenan was 910 years, and then he died.

5:15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared. 5:16 Mahalalel lived 830 years after he became the father of Jared, and he had other sons and daughters. 5:27 The entire lifetime of Methuselah was 969 years, and then he died.

9:5 For your lifeblood 1  I will surely exact punishment, 2  from 3  every living creature I will exact punishment. From each person 4  I will exact punishment for the life of the individual 5  since the man was his relative. 6 

9:6 “Whoever sheds human blood, 7 

by other humans 8 

must his blood be shed;

for in God’s image 9 

God 10  has made humankind.”

9:15 then I will remember my covenant with you 11  and with all living creatures of all kinds. 12  Never again will the waters become a flood and destroy 13  all living things. 14
