Bible: Amos 2:10; 4:10; 8:8-9; 9:5-7
2:10 I brought you up from the land of Egypt;
I led you through the wilderness for forty years
so you could take the Amorites’ land as your own.
4:10 But the Lord said, “What have you done? 1 The voice 2 of your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!
8:8 Then Noah 1 sent out a dove 2 to see if the waters had receded 3 from the surface of the ground. 8:9 The dove could not find a resting place for its feet because water still covered 4 the surface of the entire earth, and so it returned to Noah 5 in the ark. He stretched out his hand, took the dove, 6 and brought it back into the ark. 7
9:5 For your lifeblood 1 I will surely exact punishment, 2 from 3 every living creature I will exact punishment. From each person 4 I will exact punishment for the life of the individual 5 since the man was his relative. 6
9:6 “Whoever sheds human blood, 7
by other humans 8
must his blood be shed;
for in God’s image 9
God 10 has made humankind.”
9:7 But as for you, 11 be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.”
