Bible: Acts 9:1-5; 22:7-8; 26:14-15

The Conversion of Saul

9:1 Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats 1  to murder 2  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest 9:2 and requested letters from him to the synagogues 3  in Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, 4  either men or women, he could bring them as prisoners 5  to Jerusalem. 6  9:3 As he was going along, approaching 7  Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed 8  around him. 9:4 He 9  fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, 10  why are you persecuting me?” 11  9:5 So he said, “Who are you, Lord?” He replied, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting!

22:7 Isaac said to his father Abraham, 1 My father?” “What is it, 2  my son?” he replied. “Here is the fire and the wood,” Isaac said, 3 but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? 22:8 God will provide 4  for himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham replied. The two of them continued on together.

26:14 He had 1  so many sheep 2  and cattle 3  and such a great household of servants that the Philistines became jealous 4  of him. 26:15 So the Philistines took dirt and filled up 5  all the wells that his father’s servants had dug back in the days of his father Abraham.
