2:4 All 1  of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages 2  as the Spirit enabled them. 3 

4:8 Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” 1  While they were in the field, Cain attacked 2  his brother 3  Abel and killed him.

The Story of Cain and Abel

4:1 Now 4  the man had marital relations with 5  his wife Eve, and she became pregnant 6  and gave birth to Cain. Then she said, “I have created 7  a man just as the Lord did! 8 

6:10 Noah had 1  three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

8:1 But God remembered 1  Noah and all the wild animals and domestic animals that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to blow over 2  the earth and the waters receded.

10:19 and the borders of Canaan extended 1  from Sidon 2  all the way to 3  Gerar as far as Gaza, and all the way to 4  Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

11:12 When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah. 11:28 Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans, 1  while his father Terah was still alive. 2 

13:4 This was the place where he had first built the altar, 1  and there Abram worshiped the Lord. 2 

13:9 Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself now from me. If you go 3  to the left, then I’ll go to the right, but if you go to the right, then I’ll go to the left.”

Abram’s Solution to the Strife

13:1 So Abram went up from Egypt into the Negev. 4  He took his wife and all his possessions with him, as well as Lot. 5 

16:6 Abram said to Sarai, “Since your 1  servant is under your authority, 2  do to her whatever you think best.” 3  Then Sarai treated Hagar 4  harshly, 5  so she ran away from Sarai. 6 

16:7 The Lord’s angel 7  found Hagar near a spring of water in the desert – the spring that is along the road to Shur. 8 

21:4 When his son Isaac was eight days old, 1  Abraham circumcised him just as God had commanded him to do. 2
