Bible: Acts 17:2, 17; 18:4, 19; 19:8-9
17:2 Paul went to the Jews in the synagogue, 1 as he customarily did, and on three Sabbath days he addressed 2 them from the scriptures, 17:17 So he was addressing 3 the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles 4 in the synagogue, 5 and in the marketplace every day 6 those who happened to be there.
18:4 Let a little water be brought so that 1 you may all 2 wash your feet and rest under the tree. 18:19 I have chosen him 3 so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep 4 the way of the Lord by doing 5 what is right and just. Then the Lord will give 6 to Abraham what he promised 7 him.”
19:8 Look, I have two daughters who have never had sexual relations with 1 a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do to them whatever you please. 2 Only don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection 3 of my roof.” 4
19:9 “Out of our way!” 5 they cried, and “This man came to live here as a foreigner, 6 and now he dares to judge us! 7 We’ll do more harm 8 to you than to them!” They kept 9 pressing in on Lot until they were close enough 10 to break down the door.
