4:8 For “physical exercise 1 has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.” 6:3 So the Lord said, “My spirit will not remain in 1 humankind indefinitely, 2 since 3 they 4 are mortal. 5 They 6 will remain for 120 more years.” 7 6:4 The Nephilim 8 were on the earth in those days (and also after this) 9 when the sons of God were having sexual relations with 10 the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. 11 They were the mighty heroes 12 of old, the famous men. 13
6:5 But the Lord saw 14 that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination 15 of the thoughts 16 of their minds 17 was only evil 18 all the time. 19 6:6 The Lord regretted 20 that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was highly offended. 21 6:7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth – everything from humankind to animals, 22 including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them.”
6:8 But 23 Noah found favor 24 in the sight of 25 the Lord.
