3:17 But whoever has the world’s possessions 1 and sees his fellow Christian 2 in need and shuts off his compassion against him, how can the love of God 3 reside 4 in such a person? 5
3:18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue but in deed and truth. 6
4:7 Is it not true 1 that if you do what is right, you will be fine? 2 But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching 3 at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.” 4
4:8 Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” 5 While they were in the field, Cain attacked 6 his brother 7 Abel and killed him.
